Accepting Submissions for New Design Book

We are very pleased to invite you to take part in a new book on design by Steven Heller and
Mirko Ilic (www.hellerbooks.com / www.mirkoilic.com) on the myriad ways designers, illustrators, photographers and art directors have involved the human body in graphic, advertising and typographic design.

This is the first book to undress design and show how the body in all its forms is used realistically,
symbolically, aesthetically, yes, and pruriently. We are looking for all printed media, for virtually any
commercial or editorial  purpose.

The book, Design Exposed (working title only), is published by Rizzoli USA for Winter/Spring
2017-18, but our research and gathering window is open now. Please be part of this project.
Our deadline to receive work from you in the format attached is October 24, 2016.

Please write directly on the linked form below and send your submission to nude@mirkoilic.com.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
Steven Heller and Mirko Ilic

Thoughts on Democracy: Freedom to Vote 2016

A graphic remix project, Thoughts on Democracy: Freedom to Vote 2016, co-curated by Steven Heller with Wolfsonian Museum's Ian Rand and Meg Floryan, revisits The Wolfsonian’s groundbreaking experiment in politically charged design from 2008. For this cycle, I was among
four contemporary designers selected to unveil new posters.

The posters will be on display at The Wolfsonian–FIU, 1001 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL from August 26 2016 through November 08 2016.

The District: The Coolest Hangout This Summer

This Abu Dhabi Summer Season, head on over to Yas Island from August 18th until September 17th and hangout at The District, a one-of-a-kind space where you can socialize, play, create, explore, find inspiration, make connections or even disconnect if that’s what you’re in the mood for.

The District is designed as a micro-city; the venue is made up of five distinct zones called The Street, The Block, The Alley, The Park and The Yard, each with its own range of activations, programming and special guest appearances.

I will be one of the guest speakers at The District this year, giving two lectures about "The Curious World of Design." More here: thedistrict.me/events/curious-world-design-mirko-ilic

The District will be open seven days a week from 12pm to 10pm, August 18th to September 17th
at du Forum, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
